FAQ's

Where do treatments take place?

Massage treatments take place in my quiet clinic in Hickling nr Melton Mowbray, with the owner present.

How much do you charge?

£55 for initial session

£50 for regular session

Home visits are available for those unable to travel. Please enquire for costs.

How long is each session?

Initial session is 60-75 minutes to allow time to take a full case history of your dog so I can tailor the treatment.

Follow up sessions will be 45 minutes to 1hr.

What does a treatment involve?

Initial treatment involve a gait, postural and palpation analysis to enable me to devise a treatment plan. I will take details of your dog’s medical history, lifestyle, diet, behaviour and any relevant background information.

Once your dog is settled I will then use a variety of massage techniques to ease pain and tension.  I will be monitoring your dog for subtle signs of pain and taking my cues from their body language.

NB. Dogs with a bite history with humans will need to be muzzled for treatment.

Are there any side effects

As waste products are released from the muscles your dog may have increased thirst, urinate more, experience lethargy or have increased energy. They may have some muscles soreness in the short term or they maybe more relaxed and less anxious.

I advise reduced activity for 24hrs following a massage to allow the dog to fully integrate the treatment. Within a couple of days you should see an improvement in their mobility.

Do I need vet referral?

Yes absolutely.  I respect the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemptions Order 2015 and all dogs must come with vet consent. Please download from bottom of the page.
